Interested in gaining a deeper understanding of your Christian faith? Interested in exploring a call to service and lay ministry? Education for Ministry (EfM) is a four-year transformational journey of theological study. Students enroll for one year at a time, and remit the course fee at the time of enrollment. The program, offered through the University of the South, offers the opportunity for participants to deepen their faith, develop their own theologies, and begin to identify the areas of ministry to which God is calling them. EfM meets Mondays, 6:45 p.m. in Classroom C.

Studies include the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History and What It Means to be a Christian today, along with worship, sharing prayer concerns and theological reflection. The primary goal of the program is to help each participant discover their spiritual gifts and how God might be calling them to use those gifts.  For information contact class facilitator Verlinda Henning (901-327-5516 or VerlindaH@aol.com). Evenings for the Community

Our engaging interfaith dialogues, featuring Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergy, which we began in September 2016, have brought enlightening conversation to our community, beginning with “The Children of Abraham,” and continuing with “Moses” and “Seeking Justice, Seeking Peace.” Please watch for announcements of the next in our series of community interfaith dialogues.
