Discover the Visual Arts, on Exhibit in our Gallery!

St. George’s Gallery and its Gallery Team help to bring works of art to St. George’s and the surrounding community. This ministry promotes art exhibits which reflect God’s gifts of creativity. A portion of The Gallery’s sales supports the ministry of Carpenter Art Garden, Binghampton. Our exhibits have included Artist Group of Memphis Art Show, Artist Link, Colored Pencil Exhibit, and Memphis Germantown Art League.

Hours: Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and at other times when the church is open, or by appointment.

Artists Needed:
The St. George Art Gallery is always looking for new talent to put on display. If you know of an artist or a group that may be interested in exhibiting their work, please contact Joy Routt. The gallery can exhibit between 20 to 100+ pieces.

Sponsors Needed:
St. George’s Gallery needs your financial support. We need assistance in the form of sponsorships for each of our upcoming shows. The funds received from sponsors covers the cost of maintaining the gallery space and receptions. Please help the Gallery to continue with its exhibitions by becoming a sponsor now.

Please contact Joy Routt at 901-721-3686 or joyroutt24@gmail.com for more information.

NEW TO THE GALLERY

If you haven’t stopped by The Gallery lately, please make it a point to visit soon. Two mini-exhibits are gracing our space: A mini-exhibit of works by the late Irene Bruce Mitchell is now hanging in her memory. Bruce, a longtime member of the St. George’s parish family, passed away in October 2020 at age 101. The three pieces that are currently on exhibit are of the former Poplar campus and were gifted to the church a number of years ago. The second mini-exhibit hangs in memory of our brother in Christ, Bill Routt: One of the pieces is his original painting interpreting one of Mother Dorothy’s sermons from September 2019, and the other is Bill’s re-imagination of Renoir’s Bal du moulin de la Galette, done by Olena Timmerman before a Taste of St. George’s dinner that Bill chaired – and including some faces from our parish family. Stop by The Gallery to check out these mini-exhibits, as well as other pieces from our parish family artists.
