John Planchon Sr

John Planchon Sr. and his wife Marcia have been communicants at St. George’s since the mid 1980s. They have three grown children.  Their daughters, who now live in New Orleans and Atlanta, were married at St. George’s, their son John Jr. was confirmed at St. George’s, and their grandson, John iii, is a torch bearer at St. George’s. John Sr. has served on the investment and endowment committees, the stewardship committee, is active in Lancers, is in the fourth year of EFM, and this is his third time to serve on the vestry.  Prior to retirement, John was a professor of economics and business at Rhodes College where he also served as vice president of academics and dean of the college.
