A Round-the-World Tour of Song with NMaria Fasciano and Joshua Terry, May 26
St. George’s Episcopal Church’s choir section leaders Maria Fasciano, soprano, and Joshua Terry, tenor, are finally getting their moment to shine! These two marvelous musicians usually have to rein themselves in to blend with the choir on Sunday mornings, so we’re looking forward to hearing them raise the roof with a selection of solos and a duet on Friday, May 26 at 7:00 pm. We hope you can join us then at St. George’s, located at 2425 S. Germantown Road in Germantown! Josh will introduce the audience to Korea with the music of Kim Dong-Jin, to France with a Phidylé by Henri Duparc, to Austria with an aria from Cosi fan tutte by Mozart, and will end his repertoire in Italy with “Una furtive lagrima” by Gaetano Donizetti. Maria will take the audience to Germany with her selections of art songs from the Wesendonck Lieder by Richard Wagner and to Italy with an aria from Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini. Both singers will combine forces with Brindisi a well-known Italian operatic duet from LaTraviata by Verdi.
Maria is an award-winning operatic soprano and three-time Metropolitan Opera Regional finalist who has sung with operas, symphonies and chamber orchestras throughout the US. Josh has performed as a soloist and in choral ensembles in Mississippi and West Tennessee, currently singing with the Rhodes Mastersingers and the BealeCanto Men’s Chorale. The concert is free (donations accepted) and a reception following the concert will be hosted by the St. George’s Friends of Music.
