Community Events at St. George's

"A Taste of St. George's"

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could experience the many wonders of St. George’s Episcopal Church, even if they are prominent members of other churches in our community? Well now is your chance to invite friends and associates to be your guests for a very special evening at St. George’s.

“A Taste of St. George’s” is a fundraiser where single tickets, or a table are reserved for an evening of dinner and dancing–a flight style menu served at your table and dinner music followed by popular selections for dancing. Proceeds are given for church ministries.

Friends of Music

The Friends of Music organization is dedicated to promoting the musical arts in the church and community by supporting outstanding performances at St. George’s Church. A group of enthusiatic supporters of the music program provides “behind the scenes” assistance to the Director of Music Ministry and Choir. If you love music and want to be a part of growing the St. George’s reputation for musical excellence and hospitality throughout the local community contact Don Cook at 901-289-0630 or donaldcook22@gmail.com for more information.

St. George’s is also the place for great music – from our wonderful music in worship on Sunday mornings, to our many offerings as part of our Friends of Music series! From hosting the Memphis-area premiere of Wes Ramsey and Tim Sharp’s “Come Away to the Skies: A High Lonesome Bluegrass Mass,” featuring the Rhodes Singers, the Rhodes Women’s Chorus, and a stellar group of local Bluegrass musicians (and the composers in-residence!), to hosting Briarcrest High School’s award-winning a capella ensemble, OneVoice, to hosting our Artists-in-Residence and our own Sanctifica Wind and Brass Ensemble, St. George’s Friends of Music brings excellent musical programs to St. George’s and the Germantown community!

Friends of Music programs are supported by donations from parishioners and visitors alike.
